Here's the summary from the match-ups:
Joe defeats Russ (103.02-78.00)
Russel decided to take the loss this week. Starting no quarterbacks (a 60 year old back-up QB doesn't count), he managed only 78 points this week. Joe's team again was beatable, and yet again the schedule bails him out. It will be interesting to see what happens when someone finally throws up 120 against him. It will also be interesting to see if Russel continues to hang onto a seemingly useless Ochocinco, Kerry Collins, and Sage Rosenfels. In my mind theres a 50/50 shot that he forgets to bench Collins for this upcoming week against Rich.Tom defeats Kum (134.86-104.34)
Not really sure where this one came from. Both Tom's defense and kicker end up with 20+ points, as do Ben Roethlisberger and Benjarvis Green-Ellis. I can't see this happening very often this season, but as the theme of the week seemed to be...you never know. Tom gets out of winless territory, and I just look like a jerk from last week's post. Kum takes his second loss but does remain in 2nd place as he still leads in points.
Danny defeats Nulty (118.32-104.96)
On paper, it looked like it would be an easy week for Danny, but then again he wasn't expecting Victor Cruz to get 20+ points. McNabb and Cruz filled in admirably for Romo and Bryant (bye week), and Nulty gave Danny a pretty good challenge. Unfortunately for Nulty, V Jax did very little while AP ran for 3 touchdowns in the first quarter. By the time he finished off his 30 point performance, Danny had pretty much put it away. Although it took til Monday night to truly find out, Danny and Nulty both sit at 3-2 after this weekend.
Adam defeats Neil (112.66-106.52)
This time there was no heartbreaker on Monday Night Football. Neil continues to be very consistent, as he has thrown up 99-115 points in each of the last 4 weeks. It's always funny to watch someone who's quarterback has a wide receiver on the opposite team, and that happened this past Sunday when Matt Cassel (Adam) and Dewayne Bowe (Neil) hooked up for 128 yards and 2 TDs. The false excitement that came when those two hooked up for TDs is fun to watch from the outside, but I've been in that situation, and it's torture when it is happening to you. Fred Jackson continues to carry Adam's team, which now sits at 3-2. Neil drops to 1-4.
Ed defeats Rich (126.80-87.54)
Ed's team put on a surprising and ass-tickling performance in this one. He gets the Pick-Up of the Week for Pierre Garcon, who for the second week in a row went for 2 TDs. Rich was short a quarterback this week, and so his chances weren't great to start. With nobody putting up spectacular numbers, Rich was sitting dead in the water before the 4 o'clock games were at halftime, and Brady only put together a decent game. He falls to 3-2, while Ed moves to 2-3.Dan defeats Frank (92.36-73.90)
It wasn't too surprising that Vick (25.60 pts) and Arian Foster (18.40 pts) were the high scorers in this match-up. Vernon Davis caught a pair of touchdowns in the late games to get Frank back into it, but Jordy Nelson only put up 1.70 pts, pretty much ending Frank's week on Sunday night. I took a pretty big loss too this week, as Tim Tebow came in for the Broncos and has made Kyle Orton obsolete. This opens up an interesting Week 7 against Ed for me, as neither of us will have QBs. On the other hand I am super excited that I get to start The Red Rifle weekly now.
